[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-15510) Add additional off heap data structure options and ByteBuffer caching for reduced GC at scale.

Mark Robert Miller commented on SOLR-15510:
-------------------------------------------

The idea here is to allow configuration towards a slightly more canonical Java scale setup - push more offheap, perhaps trading perf for scale in more modest cases, but reducing heap management and overall GC with a recommended configuration ending up towards trying to minimize the Java heap config to a greater degree, locking it into active mem with LargePages, and using off heap available memory for a larger set of large data structures.

> Add additional off heap data structure options and ByteBuffer caching for reduced GC at scale.
