I have observed the same problem, but in most other tables in the GUI eg HTTP
Request parameters, Test Plan user variables.
My workaround is the same, click in an 'isolated' text field, then click on the
next table cell to be modified.
The 'Encoded?' column of the HTTP Request parameters does not suffer from the
problem, I think, and when editing paramters I have picked on a single check
button as my 'edit toggle' for the text fields I am editing. It has the same
effect as clicking on an isolated text field, though it also toggles
the 'Encoded?' value.
My version of JMeter is a CVS checkout from about 23/8, JDK 1.4.1-rc1 on
WinNT4sp6a.
