I had a look since when this sample was broken because I remember that I had it
working: since 1st of May last year! Are the samples tested or used that
infrequently? Or was there another issue that hided this bug?

Well, the only way to use them frequently is to execute samples 
automatically every night and send report as soon as sample breaks. We 
only need good set of ant eater tests.
