James and avalon/phoenix...

Hey all, I've been lurking on here for a short while and havn't found in
the archives any reference to james future....

I know Avalon/phoenix has been discontinued, but I've not seen any
official statement about how James is going to deal with this (other
than references that it IS being dealt with).

Is anyone able to offer a quick rundown (or pointers to particular mail
archive posts?) on whats happening in this area?

Cheers,
Mark

Avalon has not be discontinued. Just phoenix.

We have no dependencies on Phoenix. We just currently need an Avalon
container.

I personally ran James inside Loom 1.0RC3 and latest phoenix trunk (2 years
old) but it should work in any avalon container (Fortress for example).

We simply agreed that we should move towards more supported
containers/libraries. So any effort to remove cornerstone/excalibur/avalon
dependencies in favor of more used/supported technologies is welcome.

IMHO this change is not going to happen soon because there are no blocking
issues that need this change to be resolved/removed.

Stefano
