Releases 4.5.0 and 4.4.1

Hi there,

I wanted to check about the status of our releases. According to jira, there are only 3 blockers and 2 of them are documentation issues for 4.5.0. Does it mean that the we should be able to release 4.5.0 shortly? There are already 116 issues resolved for 4.5.0 also according to jira.

I don't see an unreleased version 4.4.1 on jira, are we not doing a bug fix release for the 4.4 branch? I can't believe that the 4.4 branch has no bugs. :-)

I'd appreciate some feedback here.

There are pending PR for each issue, this I quite a big patch and so an
expert reviewer will help a lot.
We say we would like to cut the 4.5.0 within 2 or 3 weeks

- BK-575: There is one reviewer assigned for the remaining sub-task. I can

There is a pending PR from me, which in turn I have created from an
original patch from Ivan Kelly.
Kishore from Salesforce is going to rebase it on Netty 4 and introduce
better handling for SSL client auth.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I was having a look at the issues you pointed out:

- BK-670: That's quite an old issue! There are 5 sub-tasks, 2 resolved, 1 patch available, and 2 unresolved. I can see that you have reviewers for the patch available one, but let me know if you need help reviewing it. For the remaining two, is there anyone looking at them?
- BK-575: There is one reviewer assigned for the remaining sub-task. I can also review if you want me to.

BOOKKEEPER-670 (long poll) and BOOKKEEPER-575 (SSL) are the two remaining
big features for 4.5.0. The timeline for 4.5.0 for completing
BOOKKEEPER-670 is in 2 weeks. The SSL one is almost done, waiting for
Kishore pushing a new pull request.

We don't do 4.4.1 because we are converging Twitter/Yahoo/Salesforce
branches in 4.5.0, unless there is a critical bug coming up. We defer
creating 4.4.1 until it is really needed.
