Bouncy Castle Jars

Hi,

I have asked the Bouncy Castle guys if they will push to a Maven Repository and they
replied that they publish only to http://www.bouncycastle.org/latest_releases.html

So could someone at the Maven end ensure that all those jars are synched with?

thanks
Tim

ok create a "new project" issue here:
https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/OSSRH and those interested in maintaining
it can add a comment to the issue to get privs.

a lot of apache projects rely on bouncy castle releases for crypto.
i'd be willing to help maintain an off shore repository if that's the
best approach.

If someone is interested in maintaining the poms and tracking their
releases, we can set up a repository at oss.sonatype.org.

Just don't use their stuff then, clearly they don't want to make it easy for
users.

Hi Carlos,

I passed what you said on to the Bouncy Castle guys, but they said:

I am not a member of the Bouncy Castle team, nor of the Maven committers,,
so I am not sure that I can go any further.

You'd have to go through the Maven repository upload process described
in http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-central-repository-upload.html

cool

more generally, i know of a number of upstream dependencies for apache
projects that are either unwilling or unable to release builds
suitable for maven (preferrable also OSGi enabled). i was planning to
start an offshore project to create the releases we need.

any advice on best practice (from the maven perspective)?

Ok, we'll cancel the oss.sonatype.org request, unless you still want
us to host the repo for you. I left a comment on the upload request,
we need the artifacts to be signed, everything else looks good.

Hi,

I think we now have a correctly setup repository that can be synced
with. I've added a jira issue:

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MAVENUPLOAD-2479

For it to be tried out.

At the moment the repository just has the 1.43 provider jars in it, once
I've confirmed that's working and fixed an errors we might find, I will
start adding the other jars people have requested.

Regards,

David
