[jira] Created: (TS-41) cache stops caching after some time (e.g. 2 weeks)

cache stops caching after some time (e.g. 2 weeks)
--------------------------------------------------

                 Key: TS-41
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TS-41
             Project: Traffic Server
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Cache
         Environment: Linux
            Reporter: John Plevyak

It seems that after 2 weeks or so the cache stops caching. I hear that AOL doesn't see this problem (at least since 2006).
Please submit whatever information you have, and in particular the first reports on this issue.

[jira] Commented: (TS-41) cache stops caching after some time (e.g. 2 weeks)

Posted by "Leif Hedstrom (JIRA)" <ji...@apache.org>.

Leif Hedstrom commented on TS-41:
---------------------------------

Talking to search briefly, they say that sometimes, but not always, restarting Traffic Server "fixes" the problem. But their solution is currently clear the entire cache every so often (~2-3 weeks).

They run TS in a forward proxy mode, and probably churn the disk cache much more than, for example, our CDN usage.
