I second that those commits should be squashed. Modifying the same lines of code in the same PR is [against our coding standard](https://flink.apache.org/contributing/code-style-and-quality-pull-requests.html#separate-refactoring-cleanup-and-independent-changes) for good reasons. At latest please do so before merging.
