[users@httpd] MysSQL Connection Fails on Apache2 Start

I am trying to use a MySQL database for Digest password management on
my remote server. I have my httpd.conf file settings here:

# mod_dbd configuration
DBDriver mysql
# MySQL params:
# host, port, user, pass, dbname, sock, flags, fldsz, group, reconnect
DBDParams "dbname=passwords user=xxxx pass=xxxx host=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port-3306"

DBDMin 4
DBDKeep 8
DBDMax 20
DBDExptime 300

At the moment it doesn't work. After start I get these errors:

[Wed Jul 27 09:08:56 2011] [error] (20014)Internal error: DBD: Can't
connect to mysql
[Wed Jul 27 09:08:56 2011] [error] (20014)Internal error: DBD: failed
to initialise

I am able to access the database with other programs both locally and
remotely. I have no idea how to proceed--ideas welcome.

Thanks.

Why would the port matter

[users@httpd] Proxy for TLS connection

Hi, I have a Apache reverse proxy server for both multiple http and https connection setup (v2.2.19). Right now there is a request to proxy TLS connection which is not on port 443. Does Apache reverse proxy server can accomplish that? Thanks.

Today I tried the pgsql (Postgresql) interface and got NO
errors--pressing on investigating its use for authentication.

Note that I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (64-bit) with MySQL, Apache, and
all Apache packages installed via the package manager. I just
installed package libaprutil1-dbd-mysql today and it shows as version
1.3.9+dfsg-3ubuntu0.10.04.1.

Does anyone have a working solution for Apache Digest password
management using MySQL (all on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) on a remote server
outside your LAN?

If so, would you be willing to share setup details?

To me my errors look like an Apache/MySQL interface problem (mod_dbd)
but I don't know how to proceed except to bother the mod_dbd devs (but
I have also asked the question on Ubuntu a few minutes ago).

Best regards,

Oops, typo--not in actual conf file.

Good catch, Tom.

port-3306 - typo or actual mistake in config file?

Cheers
