[jira] Commented: (MCHECKSTYLE-143) /src directory is absent in multiproject, but plugin fails

Dennis Lundberg commented on MCHECKSTYLE-143:
---------------------------------------------

What is the <packaging> of your root project?
What is the purpose of your root project?

If you have a root project whose sole purpose is to tie a bunch of sub projects together, then it should use <packaging>pom</packaging>. If you do it like this you should not have this problem.

> I have a multi-module project, which DOES'T have /src directory in a root project (and it's correct I suppose). When I'm running checkstyle plugin it fails because the directory is absent.
> I don't think it's correct to create an empty directory just for checkstyle.
> Would be nice to have a special configuration parameter to work around this problem.
