Summary: jar archive update excluding 'defaultexcludes' fails
Product: Ant
Version: 1.6.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Core tasks
AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
ReportedBy: andre.fuegenschuh@gmx.de
Some trouble with create/update an archive using 'defaultexcludes'.
Guess the following directory structure:
domain/SomeGeneralFile
domain/project/build.xml (s. b.)
domain/project/package/SomeSourceFile
domain/project/package/SomeSourceFile~ (a backup file)
and an ant build file with two targets (s. b.) creating the projects archive and
subsequently updating it with some general files from 'domain/'.
The first step works fine using the 'defaultexcludes="yes"' attribute, the
backup file (SomeSourceFile~) is included. But running the second step,
updating this archive, the backup file is lost/removed.
Including the original fileset has no impact, but using the
global 'defaultexcludes' task (since Ant 1.6.0) will make it work (s. b.).
The question is: is it a bug or 'works as intended/designed'?
If the latter, especially using the 'defaultexcludes' task, it will be helpful
to have some comment lines and/or a sample in the documentation.
