calling DispatchAction from global-forwards

My struts portlet is not forwarding to the correct page.   Is this method of forwarding not right?

Action class:
public class HoldFileInfoSearchAction extends DispatchAction {
public ActionForward init(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form,
                  HttpServletRequest request) throws Exception {
            log.debug("execute");
            ...
            return mapping.findForward("next");
      }
}
