Ibatis and DB2 cluster

We are using Ibatis and DBCP connection pools to connection DB2 failover cluster 
   
  How does Ibatis handle lost connection during failover ? What happens to the failed connection does it go back to the pool ?
   
  How does Ibatis handle failover during a transaction ? What will the application need to do in this case ?
