Export a file

I hope someone can help

I an trying to export a statement from my bank account. however it keeps 
defaulting to MS Excel and I cannot do anything with that.

How do I export the file to Open office Calc

You should be able to open an Excel file with OpenOffice Calc. 
Alternatively see if the bank provides an option  to export as csv which 
Calc should happily open.
