The jar file is indeed gone at [0] but is still present at [1]. I'm not sure what the plan is for syncing the release branch to trunk, so reopening this issue to make sure this is addressed for the [1] branch.

I removed the functionality provided by JAWS as it's not one of the core functionalities, if we decide on the usage this library again we would use a separate deps package or we can use a more common library which can be found in maven central. So, I'm resolving this issue now.

The current approach allows one to check out the project from svn and compile it. How would this with a separate deps package work, wouldn't one have to check out multiple projects and make sure they are in the correct relative locations?

Probably yes, but we could also have a Stanbol module in the right place, and just exclude it from the release build using a Maven profile or something. Then, release that dependencies module separately.
The goal, as discussed recently on the general@a.o. list, is to have only source code in the release archives that we vote on.
