Dims,
The reason I will not be involved in the project is because my
interests and goals are different than others and I felt that it was
best for the community if I pursed them elsewhere.
Apache has always struck me as a place where people show courtesy and
keep things professional. Your last statement does not seem in line
with that approach. Please allow those of us who have chosen to
pursue our interests elsewhere to do so quietly and without such
negativity. There is no controversy here and there certainly does not
need to be any ill-will...As the email subject says, it's just a few
of us "moving on".

yep..i asked because i've read that. from that readme however, it
seems like they'll work on the federated runtime, and not the whole
thing...
well..let's see. I'm sure they'll make a great job, and the projects
will learn from each other and (hopefully) cooperate.

I'm also disappointed --- I think that resolving arguments and finding
technical ways to meet multiple competing needs is one of the
strengths of open source. And forking is one of the weaknesses.
But its just my 2c worth.

Looks like it is a fork. Which is disappointing. My only hope is
that this will help us get back on track to organizing Tuscany and
building a community here.

So far this is just a lot of speculation - all we have is a project
name and three people. If Asankha and I happened to set up a
code.google project I don't think it would be fair to assume we were
deserting Synapse!

Best of luck guys. I could see the frustration on the list for a
while. I trust your project will be wildly successful and perhaps
given distance and time a better relationship will end up being the
result for Tuscany and your project.
