Document attachments

I recently started used Open Office.

I a having a difficult time  attaching
a document to an e-mail. 

Can anyone assist me?

Setup Openoffice to use your email client:
1.select from menubar: tools>options>internet>email
2. When you want to send an email from Writer: from the menubar the send 
option has..
a. Document as email, bring  s up email ckient with doc atached.
b. email as pdf file..converts to pdf and ataches to your emai.

I will tell you how I do things, it doesn't mean it's the only way to do
it...

If you click on "File->Save as..." you select the location where you want
your document saved, either your desktop folder or usually the "My
Documents" if you're using Windows...

Then from your favorite e-mail program (or GMail session if using a
browser) you click on "Attach a file", and use the File requester dialog to
maneuver to the folder where you saved such document (like said above, the
Desktop or My Documents, whatever...) and select the file you want to
attach to our email.

Done.
