0.24 release update - alpha is available

[Justin Ross <jr...@apache.org>]

Hi, everyone. Our first 0.24 distribution is available here:

    http://people.apache.org/~jross/qpid-0.24-alpha/

My testing (autotools-centric, Fedora 16 x86-64) completed without
errors, after a couple distribution issues were repaired first.

Please give it a try and tell us what happened. Beta is set for two
weeks from now, and with it we branch for release. After that, 0.24
bug fixes need approval, so take advantage of the alpha-beta window
now if you can.

Thanks!
Justin
