we appreciate your interest in XmlBeans and we are sorry that you are encountering said memory problems which you think may be XmlBeans' fault.
Unfortunately, at this time, the commiters seem either busy with the upcoming V2 beta release or spread too thin among other commitments. This, along with the fact that this is likely a time-consuming thing to investigate in the V1 codebase, with which we are no longer that familiar with, make it impossible to give a timeframe for fixing this memory leak. Also, remember that XmlBeans comes only with the support that this list can offer, which, as we have seen, is usually pretty good, but there can be no guarantees.
What I suggest is to try and package up a patch and create a JIRA bug explaining the issue (more or less copy the relevant posts in there for reference). A commiter will eventually look at it and decide to integrate it in the "official" codebase. In the meantime, if it works for you, you should by all means use it, and having a proposed patch will also help others who may run into the same problem as you have.

We have built application that relays on XMLBeans for XML parsing. The only thing we do with XMLBeans is parse XML input and reading the values during the application.
 
Now we are running stress tests and long run tests and seems that there is a memory leak inside the application. After investigating the issue with Borland Optimizeit (Profiler) it seems that leaks lead to the XMLBeans.
 
Has anyone expierenced memory leaks when using XMLBeans ? 
 
I am using version 1.0.3, which is the latest stable one.
 
I think I saw similar question on this list before, and now it became relevant to me as well.

Radu,

I was also planning to use XmlBeans in one of our upcoming projects,
but hearing about XmlBeans' memory leak make me little uncomfortable.
Isn't it something that should be fixed in the base release of
XmlBeans, else the same bug can be moved into V2 ??

Though, I do understand that enough resources may not be available to
work on this issue, Memory leak do sound to me a high priority issue.

Initially, I got the impression that memory leak is only related to
SelectPath() method, but after Dima's mail, it seems to be a generic
issue.

Dima, Venkat, Do you have any patch for this that you have tried. I
would like to get that too.
