Fwd: [jira] [Resolved] (PODLINGNAMESEARCH-108) Establish whether "Apache Pirk" is a suitable name

Yay! Time to print the T-shirts ;-)

BTW I neglected to mention that the project logo is great.
(and what's with the Tapir on the homepage?)

Regards,
Tim

> Private Information Retrieval (PIR) is an area of computer science and mathematics that enables a user/entity to privately and securely obtain information from a dataset, to which they have been granted access, without revealing, to the dataset owner or to an observer, any information regarding the questions asked or the results obtained. Employing homomorphic encryption techniques, PIR enables datasets to remain resident in their native locations while giving the ability to query the datasets with sensitive terms

The order info appears to be gone, but I will see what I can do to setup a
swag order option for us ;)

Sounds good.

I will try to add the TM and repost.

BTW it would be good if the Apache Pirk project logo had a small "TM"
in/near it, and an attribution line on the webpage to denote that it is
considered a trademark of the Apache Software Foundation.

While there is leniency for a podling in incubation, I can open a JIRA
issue for this to ensure we don't forget.

lol - I missed that reference. I say she can stay (provided the image
was obtained under a suitable reuse license).

w00t! :)

The tapir (taPIR - yes, we are complete dorks) was our initial contribution
to a Pirk mascot. I'm sure that he can be voted off of the island, if
desired. ;)
