Jasper as a standalone JSP engine?

I've been annoyed recently by IBM's WebSphere not supported JSP 1.1, so I
took Jasper and got it to compile under VisualAge for Java's WebSphere Test
Environment.

It brought up a few things about Jasper's general structure and usability
without Tomcat's Servlet engine. Is anyone else interested in using Jasper
outside of Tomcat and discussing it? FWIW, this was running Jasper on a 2.1
Servlet Engine, not 2.2.
