The test is asserting edges but loading vertices.

{{assertEquals(2, IteratorUtils.count(graph.vertices(e1.id().toString(), e2.id().toString())));}}

should be

assertEquals(2, IteratorUtils.count(graph.edges(e1.id().toString(), e2.id().toString())));
