RE: Changing the MySQL Driver [SOLVED]
1. Downloaded the source for 2.2.0.
2. Source wouldn't build so copied the mail-1.3.1.jar from the source's lib folder to $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext.
3. Copied the version of the MySQL driver we are using to the source's lib folder and removed the version of the jar shipped with the James source.
4. Recompiled the source using build.sh.
5. run.sh -> no errors....SUCCESS!
Thanks for your help Daniel.

James comes with mm.mysql-2.0.14.jar.
It's contained in the james.sar file, so i would recomend changing it there
as it get's extracted to a folder like:
$JAMES_HOME/work/james-1090623430288/SAR-INF/lib/mm.mysql-2.0.14.jar
To change it you can either rebuild james from source with a different
version, or change it in the sar file (which is just a funny jar/zip file).
I would recomend building it from source.
Daniel.

Well behaved lists use the "Precedence:" header normally "list"
sometimes "bulk" the rule is "Don't send out-of-office responses to
mail with this header"

Hmm..Is there a master list maintained of email addresses used to post to
list-servs? If such a list does not exist, how can an autoresponder know
for certain that it isn't posting to a list? And if such a list did exist,
how could you keep it from being a list of spam targets?

Our office has been using James for almost a year now with very little
problems. One thing that has cropped up lately though is the need for
some sort of automated response that can be sent to people in the event
that a particular person is on holiday at the time. I would like to
avoid using the actual email client, since that would require the users
PC to be left on while they are away.
Does anyone know of any system, perhaps web based, that can be
configured by the user to send an automated message back of their
choosing. I also realise that this should ideally not reply to
distribution lists.
Please can I have a few recommendations, there must be something out there.

Good idea.
I've done this, and updated the Avalon item.
But it won't be published until someone updates the site from svn

Shall we update the TODO List ??
Posted by Alan Gerhard <al...@gercom.com>.
This is a living document that will give new and existing volunteers some
areas where we need help. As always, any help is appreciated, be it
documentation, code, suggestions, or feedback. Last Updated 10 December
2002.
-------------------------------
As taken from the web-site, the TODO list appears to be more then 2 years
old.
Can this list be updated or at least a statement to the effect that even
though this list has not been updated for over two years, the items below
are still needed ..
