[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-10691) Problems with mirroring

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-10691?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14982846#comment-14982846 ]

Geoffrey Corey commented on INFRA-10691:
----------------------------------------

Some of this is stemming from the bandwidth issues from rsync.eu/www.eu earlier this week. I have bumped max connections on rsync.us/www.us and have changed DNS for rsync.eu back to tlp-eu-mid.

this should hopefully start clearing up some of them.

> There seems to be some serious problems with the mirroring system.
> The mirror list keeps showing messages of the form:
> mm-merge: not enough 'ok' mirrors (91<100)
> mm-merge: not enough 'ok' mirrors (71<100)
> There was an e-mail to the mirror list stating:
> "We haven't been able to sync since yesterday morning due to
> @ERROR: max connections (80) reached -- try again later
> Either that limit needs to be raised or some dead connections cleaned up...
> rsync.apache.org currently resolves to 140.211.11.105 for us."
> Also, the mirror listing shows severe problems with some of the backup hosts:
> Note that rsync and http to the US host are hanging.
> There are also problems with running from the US:
