[PR] Write the website release for data/projects.yml [skywalking-ai-sessionizer]
wu-sheng opened a new pull request, #17:
URL: https://github.com/apache/skywalking-ai-sessionizer/pull/17
The SkyWalking website now keeps its downloads and its documentation in one file, `data/projects.yml`. `publish` still wrote `website.txt` for `data/releases.yml` and `data/docs.yml`, which the website no longer has. The 0.3.0 entries were rewritten by hand in apache/skywalking-website@1ceaad5.
`website.txt` is now one release for `data/projects.yml`:
```yaml
- version: v0.3.0
latest: true
docs:
link: /docs/skywalking-ai-sessionizer/v0.3.0/readme/
commitId: 283cba80eb1085cb5e0dae37ccc34b5de9c6ffc0
latestLink: /docs/skywalking-ai-sessionizer/latest/readme/
latestCommitId: 283cba80eb1085cb5e0dae37ccc34b5de9c6ffc0
downloads:
- name: Source archive
type: source
link: https://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.lua/skywalking/ai-sessionizer/0.3.0/apache-skywalking-ai-sessionizer-0.3.0-src.tgz
asc: https://downloads.apache.org/skywalking/ai-sessionizer/0.3.0/apache-skywalking-ai-sessionizer-0.3.0-src.tgz.asc
sha512: https://downloads.apache.org/skywalking/ai-sessionizer/0.3.0/apache-skywalking-ai-sessionizer-0.3.0-src.tgz.sha512
- name: MacOS ARM64
type: binary
...
date: Sep. 17th, 2026
```
- The release is marked `latest: true`, with `latestLink` and `latestCommitId`, only when GitHub's Latest label names it. Otherwise it is `latest: false` with no Latest documentation. The website allows exactly one latest release per project.
- The comments at the top say where the item goes. For a latest release, they also say what to change on the release that was the latest before it: set `latest: false`, remove its Latest documentation, and point its links at archive.apache.org.
- A run after promotion cannot be given `--latest` or `--not-latest`, so it reads which release GitHub's label names. Its entries agree with the label, including a label changed by hand.
- The release guide describes the new shape and points at the 0.3.0 release post as the example. The steps `publish` prints name `data/projects.yml`, and the 0.4.0 changelog records the change.
Validation:
- `go test ./tools/releasepublish/` passes. The latest cases now also check `website.txt`. A new test, `TestPublishAfterPromotionReadsTheLatestLabel`, runs `publish` again after promotion, as latest and as not latest.
- `website_entries` was run with the real 0.3.0 values: the tag commit, the six platforms in `PLATFORMS`, and the date of the move. The item is the same as the release now on the website, except that the website links packages through `closer.cgi` and the script uses `closer.lua`, which the ASF rules for download pages ask for.
- `bash -n tools/release.sh`, `gofmt`, `go vet` and `golangci-lint` report nothing.
