[jira] Created: (HTTPCLIENT-723) HttpRoutePlanner based on ProxySelector

HttpRoutePlanner based on ProxySelector
---------------------------------------

                 Key: HTTPCLIENT-723
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HTTPCLIENT-723
             Project: HttpComponents HttpClient
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: HttpConn
            Reporter: Roland Weber
            Assignee: Roland Weber
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 4.0 Alpha 3

Since we now require Java 5, we should have a route planner that uses the standard Java ProxySelector. That would allow us to automatically pick up proxy settings from system properties or the browser running an applet.

Roland Weber commented on HTTPCLIENT-723:
-----------------------------------------

I've checked in a fully untested ProxySelectorRoutePlanner.
I'm leaving this issue open until I've had time to make some tests.
Full unit testing will require a MockProxySelector.

cheers,
  Roland

    Resolution: Fixed

I have not really _tried_ it, but I added unit tests with a basic coverage of 70%.
