[PR] Remove unreferenced helper scripts from bin/ [trafficserver-ci]
phongn opened a new pull request, #467:
URL: https://github.com/apache/trafficserver-ci/pull/467
Everything in `bin/` except `update_lets_encrypt_certs` dates to the initial import in e4814fd ("scripts for ci", Feb 2021) and has not been touched since. I cross-referenced every basename against all pipelines, Dockerfiles and scripts in this repo, plus `ci/` and `tools/` on trafficserver `master` and `9.2.x` — none of it is referenced anywhere.
The 59 removed scripts fall into four groups:
**Interactive distro shells** — `alpine38`, `centos7`, `debian7/8/9`, `fedora30`-`33`, `ubuntu1404` through `ubuntu2010`, `quic.sh`. Each is a one-line `docker run ... ats/<distro>:<ver> /bin/bash` against registry tags that no longer exist. Same story for the loops in `docker-all.sh` (Fedora 27-30, CentOS 6/7, Ubuntu 17.04), `version-all.sh` and `pull-all.sh`.
**Administration for CI hosts that are long gone** — `rax.sh` and `make-machines.sh` (Rackspace), `update.sh` and `on-all.sh` (ssh into `fedora22-int`, `centos5-int` et al), `clean-github.sh` (`github1-int`…`github4-int`), `iptables.sh`, `purge.sh` (hardcodes `192.168.3.14`), `btrfs-snap`, `freebsd.sh`, and the `/CA` cleanup scripts `clean-autest.sh`, `clean-clang.sh`, `cleanup.sh`. `freebsd.sh` also embeds the provisioning SSH public key and source-IP allowlist for the decommissioned `jenkins-master.rax.boot.org`.
**Personal workstation helpers** — `clean` (a copy of `clean.pl` whose changelog begins in 1991), `dbash`, `docker` (a `HOSTALIASES` wrapper), `start-ats.sh`, `start-registry.sh`, `src_watcher.sh`, `build_master.sh`, `RTD.sh` (fetches MathJax from the retired `cdn.mathjax.org`), `coad-6_1_x.pl`, `compare-yum.sh`, `update-rpm-links.sh`, and the sync wrappers `gd-sync.sh`, `master-sync.sh`, `site_sync.sh`, `rsync.sh`, `scp-all.sh`, `on-docker.sh`, `on-gd.sh`.
**Stale duplicates of files maintained elsewhere** — `build_h3_tools.sh` (each image carries its own copy, and master has `tools/build_h3_tools.sh`), `gh-mirror.sh` (`jenkins/bin` has the live one), and the `ats_conf.pl` / `invoker_wrap.sh` / `backtrace.sh` cluster, which references only itself and whose `ats_conf.pl` is byte-identical to the one 9.2.x still carries and master dropped.
`bin/update_lets_encrypt_certs` is kept — added recently in #281, still used to refresh the docs host certificates.
`bin/cov-submit.sh` is deliberately left to #466, which removes it on its own so the committed Coverity token isn't held up behind this review. The two PRs touch disjoint files and can merge in either order.
