[jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-3402) Add ability to change the IP address on a VM's NIC

David Noland created CLOUDSTACK-3402:
----------------------------------------

Summary: Add ability to change the IP address on a VM's NIC
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-3402
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-3402
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: New Feature
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
          Components: API, Management Server
            Reporter: David Noland

Need the ability to change the IP address that is specified or assigned to a VM's NIC. Could be done with a new IP or using the updateVirtualMachine API.

Use case:
Customer launches a new VM and it is assigned the IP address 192.168.123.88 on its primary NIC. Customer later wishes to assign the IP address 192.168.123.207.

Currently there is a workaround to change this directly in the CloudStack database, but it is strongly preferred to have an API to do this so it can be exposed in the UI to end users.
