Somehow I missed this bug -- I entered and fixed http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEEHIVE-903 based on a thread I had with Xibin.

Adriano (did I get your first name right?), you asked:

It would evaluate to false if you use the 'path' attribute instead of 'method' on @Jpf.Catch, e.g.,
    @Jpf.Catch(type=MyException.class, path="error.jsp")
