Open Office Search Question

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to search a single number included in an input range? For example, in a spreadsheet a user inputs a model number in column A and a range of serial numbers in column B (see table below).

Is there a way to set up the spreadsheet so that the user can search, for example, serial number 1150 and the program will flag row 2 where the searched serial number falls into the input range in column B?

The ctrl+F and the other search features in the program seem to only be able to find numbers that appear as text in the document (in the image above, the search feature would only recognize 1100 and 1200, but none of the number in between). Is there perhaps a way to format the cells in column B as "ranges" so that the program would be able to recognize all of the numbers in the range without having to enter each individual serial number?

Thank you for your help,

Lauren Haynes
