[Issue 126727] New: SpellCheck runs at startup, won't stop

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126727

          Issue ID: 126727
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: SpellCheck runs at startup, won't stop
           Product: General
           Version: 4.1.2
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Major
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: spell checking
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: ecr10@verizon.net

Upon starting up Write or Calc, the "Spelling" window opens and immediately
goes into a loop, and I have to shut OO down using task manager.

Sometimes the loop is the spellchecker checking one word over and over.
Sometimes its a response box that asks "should the spell check be continued
..." and then it checks one word over and over. Other times its a box saying
"the spell check is complete," I click OK, and the box pops up again.

I tried re-installing OO, which seemed to solve the problem for awhile but it
has now re-appeared.

Any ideas would be appreciated ... thanks!

I never see a such behavior.
Could you attach a screenshot to show this problem?

@Rich,

Also, did you install 4.1.2 over an earlier version of Apache OpenOffice? What
was it?

And do you install any special writing aids (spell-checkers for different
languages, etc.)?

Also, do you have any accessibility options enabled?

And finally, after you make a screen shot, try renaming your user profile after
AOO is completely shut down (with no quickstart running). This will cause your
user profile to be regenerated and that may be all that is needed. See the
Forum tutorial page at
<https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426>.

Changing to irreproducible to be more accurate.
