Tomcat Recommendations

Hi,

 

Schedule restart for tomcat 3.2 server has very important effect in the whole web server performance, and this because of the following reasons

 

1-it cleans up all hung threads  

2-it frees memory and provides more efficient way to release unused memory 

3-it updates the cache especially if the reload option is off

4-it reinitializes all variables and parameters 

5-it enhance server speed 

 

So one of most important recommendation for tomcat 3.2 is to make a schedule restart such every week or two days to enhance over all performance and remedy all hung processes
