Servicemix 3.3.1 - Using BinaryFileMarshaler getting error Content is not alowed in prolog

Hi,

Trying to setup a file mover. Using tutorial example and documentation from
servicemix-file.

Trying to move a non-xml file. When file is copied, receiving [Fatal Error]
<filename>:1:1: Content is not allowed in prolog.

Then a zero bit file appears in the file poller location.

I used the example in servicemix-file for the BinaryFileMarshaler and that
does not work either.

Any ideas what is causing this error?

Using ServiceMix 3.3.1 /Java 1.6.0_14

Thanks,

Patrick

Hmmm. This build looks fine to me. The warnings and info you see are just
maven complaining about other poms that it doesn't like, but these should
not affect your build. Can you try to deploy this config and send us the
stack trace if you still get the error? It almost seems like there is
actually no file in the message.

Hi,

That config did not work either.

Hi again,

It seems that the binary marshaler is not used.

Could you try the following configuration:

<f:sender service="proj:file" endpoint="send"
	directory="file:C:/Outbox" autoCreateDirectory="true"/>
<f:poller service="proj:file" endpoint="poll"
	file="file:C:/Inbox" targetService="proj:file"
	targetEndpoint="send" period="60000" recursive="true"
	autoCreateDirectory="true">
	<f:marshaler>
		<bean class="org.apache.servicemix.components.util.BinaryFileMarshaler"/>
	</f:marshaler>
</f:poller>

Could you provide the whole stack trace too ?

Thanks
Regards
JB

Hi,

Here is the xbean.xml that I tried:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<beans xmlns:f="http://servicemix.apache.org/file/1.0"
xmlns:proj="http://servicemix.apache.org/samples/filemover"
xmlns:sm="http://servicemix.apache.org/config/1.0">
<f:sender service="proj:fileSender" endpoint="endpoint"
directory="file:///C:/Outbox" autoCreateDirectory="true">
 <property name="marshaler">
  <bean class="org.apache.servicemix.components.util.BinaryFileMarshaler" />
  </property>
  </f:sender>
 <f:poller service="proj:filePoller" endpoint="poller"
file="file:///C:/Inbox" targetService="proj:fileSender"
targetEndpoint="endpoint" period="60000" recursive="true"
autoCreateDirectory="true">
<property name="marshaler">
  <bean class="org.apache.servicemix.components.util.BinaryFileMarshaler" />
  </property>
  </f:poller>
  </beans>

Hi Patrick,

could you paste the xbean.xml using the BinaryFileMarshaler ?

Hi Lars,

But the next line, which happens a second after the prior line, says:

INFO - AutoDeploymentService - Directory: hotdeploy: Finished
installation of archive:  YXTest-sa-1.0-SNAPSHOT.zip

Which I thought that it then completed the supended install.

Is this not correct?

If the servicemix-file components were not loaded then the service should
not attempt to move the files, which it tries to, but it can only move XML
files, not other non XML files.

Thanks

Patrick

Re: Servicemix 3.3.1 - Using BinaryFileMarshaler getting error Content is not alowed in prolog

Posted by Lars Heinemann <lh...@apache.org>.
The warning below:

WARN - AutoDeploymentService - Components servicemix-file are not
installed yet: the service assembly YXTest-sa deployment is susp
ended and will be resumed once the listed components are installed

simply says that there is no servicemix-file installed on your ESB and
therefor your SU/SA
can't be deployed successfully. Check if servicemix-file is in your
hotdeploy folder.

Regards
Lars

Re: Servicemix 3.3.1 - Using BinaryFileMarshaler getting error Content is not alowed in prolog

Posted by pmilitzer <pa...@midwestairlines.com>.
Hi,

I have not tried to put the message into a JMS queue yet. Just want to make
sure the File to File would work but that does not seem to be working, so
have not pressed on to the JMS yet.

Java version 1.6.0_14 is what we have installed. I don't have 1.5 installed
on the box. Was hoping not to have to put 1.5 on the box. If there is no
other option, I can test it.

I'm not getting any errors when I hotdeploy the module, this is the only
thing that comes up on the console:

INFO - AutoDeploymentService - Directory: hotdeploy: Archive
changed: processing YXTest-sa-1.0-SNAPSHOT.zip ...
WARN - AutoDeploymentService - Components servicemix-file are not
installed yet: the service assembly YXTest-sa deployment is susp
ended and will be resumed once the listed components are installed
INFO - AutoDeploymentService - Directory: hotdeploy: Finished
installation of archive:  YXTest-sa-1.0-SNAPSHOT.zip

When I run the mvn install on the SA directory I get the following output:

Not sure if any of the warnings would cause the BinaryFileMarshaler to fail.

Thanks,

Patrick

Re: Servicemix 3.3.1 - Using BinaryFileMarshaler getting error Content is not alowed in prolog

Hi,

Isn't this similar to post
http://cwiki.apache.org/SM/discussion-forums.html#nabble-td25060140

Let me also know if your issue is addressed. However, with just simple
configuration like file:sender and file:poller, i did not get this error in
Java 1.6. For me the same error appeared on routing file poller's target
service to jms queue.

Does your component work in Java 1.5?

Thanks,
Richa.
