Apache Rya Logging question
Hello,
I currently have an Apache Rya/Accumulo instance up with data loaded and am trying to look at Rya's Query Plan after performing queries from a local Rya Shell. The only log file I see that has that information is the "Catalina.out" file but it appears it only contains the requested info when there is an exception [DEBUG log] during the query. In other words, I don't see Rya's Query Plan for the last few queries I've sent because, I suspect, those queries didn't throw any exceptions. I looked at tomcat's logging level properties and it's just the default with all Handler Specific Properties set to FINE and Facility Specific Properties set to INFO.
So I guess my question is, when using the Rya Shell, is there a recommended way to access Rya's Query Plan?
Thank you so much for your help,
Brian

Hi Puja,
I haven't seen any description of something like that being a property. The only properties I see when submitting a sparql-query is the --file option.
If that is a property, I'd be very interested in knowing how to set that up.

I believe there is a property— display query plan or something like that to get the query plan displayed to screen. I can look it up if that sounds right to someone.

I believe there is a property— display query plan or something like that to get the query plan displayed to screen. I can look it up if that sounds right to someone.

When you are using the shell, all the Rya code is built into the
Shell. Your configuration must match the configuration of all the
other clients that created/use the Rya instance.

In your environment.properties, set use.display.plan=true, then restart rya.

Hi David,
First, I took a look at both the log file config as well as the log file itself and found no query plan displayed. And the logging level is set at INFO so I assume if the Query Plan was being logged, it would be in there.
Second, since the Rya Shell connects directly to Zookeeper/Accumulo, does that mean it won't use Rya's query optimizer capabilities (Prospects Table, etc.)?
Thanks so much!
