Superset Gallery Examples

Hi!

I can't seem to find the example charts and data behind the examples in the
gallery.

What I really want to see is how the French District map
<https://apache-superset.readthedocs.io/en/0.35.2/_images/country_map.png>
was created. I want to do something similar for my country, but I don't
know what chart it is, or what data format to use. I would really welcome a
minimal working example behind that. The gallery only points to the static
images which is of no help in this regard.

Thanks, Gabor

Hi,

Most important “trick” is to add the map box key to the config.py
https://superset.apache.org/docs/frequently-asked-questions#why-is-the-map-not-visible-in-the-geospatial-visualization <https://superset.apache.org/docs/frequently-asked-questions#why-is-the-map-not-visible-in-the-geospatial-visualization>

Also here’s a vid that might help.

After that you need to select either ISO geo data or long/lat geo data into the chart, but that should be straight forward. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dennis

Hi Gabor,

This is the country map. We documented here
<https://docs.preset.io/docs/country-map>. You need to have the ISO 3166-2
Country Codes to build your map. What country would you like to use?

Hi, you can find relevant info here:
https://superset.apache.org/docs/miscellaneous/country-map-tools

As far as where the data came from, often the PNG used for the thumbnail
doesn't come from data that's in the official list of examples, the
contributor of the plugin probably just took a screenshot from local data.
