Synapse Logo Proposals
Hi all,
Upul and I have created some proposals for the Synapse logo.
Hoping to receive some ideas to improve these.
Thanks,
Chanaka.

Not really, because it is fully colored, I mean just the neurons without the
firing.
Well, A05-02 is OK, I guess.

+1 for A05-02,
Paul,
Don't you think it is better if there is a filling (matching) color for the
neurones rather than just the margin lines?

Re: Synapse Logo Proposals

Firstly thanks for the efforts!
I like A02 and A05. I like the Synapse firing - especially in A02, and I
think we should have a feather. However, I think the feather looks somehow
"bolted on" or out of place. Is there someway we can try to make the three
parts (synapse firing, word "synapse" and feather) fit together better and
look more cohesive?
Thanks!

>From the look, I like A04.
But from the point of concept I prefer the A05 logo. But the color scheme
and relative size of the neuron and most part of the look of the logo needs
much more work. My reasoning for this is, definition of Synapse is the
message passing in between two neurons through the synaptic gap using
electrical or chemical reaction which is ultra fast. I don't know whether
this is the reason why we got this name, but I see it as a perfect fit for
the name and I would like to see that expressed in the logo as well.
Chanaka, Can you try to fine tune this (A05) logo or the other same concept
logos (A01, A02). I think reddish color used in the A04 logo is matching the
text color in the logo so may be you can use that color to some extent.
Thanks,
Ruwan

Pual,
Shall we start a new thread with a VOTE to select the logo from these? I
think voting on this thread makes things unclear.

I also like final#02 best out of those three.
However, when I go back and look at the original designs you did, I think I
still prefer A02!
I think the original designs had a little more verve and energy.
Sorry to be tricky! Matters of aesthetics are hard. Maybe its time for a
proper vote?

Aha
I'm afraid I like it more simplified - the 3D doesn't attract me. My problem
with the first three is the way the lines don't go straight towards the
center of each circle - that really bugs me!
Apart from that, I think I like #2 and #4 best.

Chanaka,
Can you improve the colors of the 3rd logo (circle colors need to be a
little bright) and add the 3D effect to the circles as in the glens original
proposal and take the feather up on to the SYNAPSE name, it seems not
fitting to the bottom of the name.
Thanks,

Thanks for bringing the discussion back alive! What if we took A02 and made

Hi Upul, Chanaka, all:
The logo thread seems to have died down a bit, so I'm chiming in to try
and spark it again. :)
I like the general idea of a lot of the proposals, but I don't actually
like the look of the neurons in the versions so far - I think they're a
little too stylized, and it would be nicer to go with a sleeker, cleaner
look.
I had something like this in mind; obviously this isn't meant for prime
time, ignore the font choice, etc... but this is the basic idea, just
simple connected nodes with a single "pulse".
What do you think?
