Default initialization under Tomcat

I have placed my log4j.properties file in the WEB-INF/classes directory just
like it says to in the documentation. Once this file is in place, what code
do I use in  my servlets to replace the
PropertyConfigurator.configure(filename) code I have been using up until
now?
