Summary: Apache CPU Usage appears to be an average value
Product: Apache httpd-2.0
Version: 2.0.47
Platform: Other
OS/Version: AIX
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: mod_status
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: Paul.Lewandowski@kohls.com
I'm doing some testing of a new image server (Tomcat 5.0) that is linked to an
IBM HTTP server (Apache 2.0.47.1 plus patches). The interaction of these two
servers is causing a 50% Apache CPU usage. In trying to debug the problem, I
have to restart Apache because the value for Apache CPU usage does not appear
to return to baseline when the test stops. Because it takes a long time to get
back down, I'm suspecting that the value displayed is really an average value,
and not the current value as stated in the mod_status documentation. Can you
please confirm that mod_status is displaying an average value vs. current? Is
there any way to get the current value if this is currently an average value?
Thanks. Paul
