Installing Fineract on Ubuntu

Are these installation instruction still valid or have they been updated

The installation instructions are valid. If you want to install Mifos X
on Ubuntu 18.04. You can install openJDK and mifos X as normal and
install MySQL on a LXC container using Ubuntu 14.04 image. Just
configure the MySQL server ip to point to the LXC. Also configure mysql
server to accept TCP connection over the net.
