You can dump the list of fonts which PDFBox knows about with:

{code}
System.out.println(ExternalFonts.getProvider().toDebugString());
{code}

This shows the line:
{code}
TTF: Arial-Black: /Library/Fonts/Arial Black.ttf
{code}
