This is not to say that the stdcxx project will be more standard than others, it is merely listed here to clarify that standards compliance is a major project consideration.</LI>

+ <LI>Portability: The most unique attribute of the Apache stdcxx project is its commitment to portability. The code that makes up the stdcxx project was built from the ground up and has been managed over the last decade to ensure platform and compiler portability. In the last commercial iteration of this code, it was certified on 48 combinations of hardware, operating systems and compilers.</LI></UL>

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects.
