Creating a string from a DOM tree

Hi all,

I am having a bit of trouble converting a DOM tree that I have created in
memory, and then getting that into string form to post to a web server. Is
there anyway that I can pass the XalanTransformer a DOM_Element and then get
the transformation of the entire tree?
