WSDLReader Error : XML Parser failed at line 0

Has anyone experienced following error msg when calling a service (implemented using Apache 2.2 on WAS) using a VB 6 client & MS SOAP Toolkit 3 ? The java proxy (generated using WSDL) works fine..
 
Fault Detail :
WSDLReader:XML Parser Failed at linenumber 0... A connection with the server could not be established.
