   I'm hitting this as well (accidentally created a user with a UUID instead of `org.couchdb.user:`  in the _users database while demoing Fauxton on our dev server.) 
   It also seems to have a strange side effect of being unable to log out (clicking Log Out throws this error, and I stay logged in.)
