[users@httpd] php script problem

how do i enable my server to be able to run php scripts properly?

You have to install PHP, for one thing.

My personal preference is as a DSO on *nix, which means compiling PHP
using:

./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs

For instance. If you can tell us which version of Apache you're using
that would help :)

And then, you edit Apache's httpd.conf (in the "conf" directory) to
add some PHP-specific bits.

Need some more information first, ie: are you hosted on *nix or
Windows, do you have access to a shell account/are you admin etc etc
