If you look at the archives [1] for this mailing list you'll find
some people who also provided portuguese translations in the last
couple years.

With the FSF??? No, it's the ASF :-)

But you are not required to sign the Contributor License Agreement
(CLA) [2], though it makes certainly sense if you intend to regularly
submit translations or make other contributions.

There are already some translations [3] so feel free to only send
patches to the documents where you think that improvements and
updates are needed.

Hope that helps...

Cheers,
Erik

Ok!!

Surfing in the portuguese linux newsgroup (u-br) I find someone to
review my translations.

What is the next step (I need to sign some kind of document with the FSF?)

Another question. I know about the existence of a already translated
documentation to pt-br. But I also know that translation is not up to dated.

Have some kind of processes to only update this document or i need to
remake all the translation?

cheers

Leon

Errr, sorry for friday, post-lunch nonsenses :)
I of course meant :

Before submitting it, and even before starting the translation work, I
recommend you gather a translation team so that you can have your
translations reviewed by another native speaker in your language.

Vincent

Greetings,

Before submitting it, and even before starting the translation work, I
recommend you have it reviewed by another native speaker in your
language. (speaking here from my past experience in 2003/2004, when i
submitted a bunch of files translated to french which nobody commited
because they were not reviewed - I am not the only one, you can read
this list archive for record of such experience...).

I guess the best thing for you is that you try to start a project,
gathering several volunteers speaking your language, and then start
translations, reviewing...

these were my 2 cents,

working on the .fr translation project.

You can't really. But if yo uboth submit a patch, then you'd need to
agree on which one to use. But that is *EXTREMELY* unlikely to happen.

Ok!

I will read the Documentation Project Tutorial.

One question... How can I know if someone else was not doing the
translation of the same document then I ?

Cheers

Re: Hi...

Posted by Tony Stevenson <to...@pc-tony.com>.
Leon,

What you need to do is find a document you want to translate.
Then submit it to this list as a patch.

I suggest you start with the docs in trunk.
You can check out a copy of these docs here ->
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/httpd/httpd/trunk/docs

I am not sure how much you know about the documents we use, or using
SVN, so rather than patronising you, if you have any questions please
let us know.

Once you submit a patch it will need to be read and approved by at least
one other native speaker before it can be submitted.

Cheers,
Tony
