StringRequestEntity.getContentLength wrong for multibyte chars
Summary: StringRequestEntity.getContentLength wrong for multibyte
chars
Product: Commons
Version: 3.0 Alpha 1
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: HttpClient
AssignedTo: commons-httpclient-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: susp51@verit.de
When setting up a PostMethod containing a StringRequestEntity with umlauts and
charset UTF-8 the content-length header is wrong. It should be the number
of bytes, but is the number of chars by now.
(e.g.
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=UTF-8
body='äöüßÄÖÜ')
Bug-location: org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.StringRequestEntity
