[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-16262) Fix Robots headers for old ref guide pages

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-16262?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17563361#comment-17563361 ]

Houston Putman commented on SOLR-16262:
---------------------------------------

So currently this does not work. If you test the solr-site htaccess yourself locally, it should work (or at least it did for me).

However, when trying out URLs on the staging, or official site, the Headers are not returned.

URLs to test with:
Should have the header added: https://solr.staged.apache.org/guide/8_5/streaming-expressions.html
Should not have the header added: https://solr.staged.apache.org/guide/8_11/blob-store-api.html

ASF Infra did not seem to have an answer, but we should follow up with a ticket for them.

> We have a htaccess rules generated to make sure that old versions of ref guide pages are not indexed by search engines, that way users will get the latest version of the documentation when they search. The syntax is wrong however and it does work, but only small changes are needed luckily!
