command line util problem

I'm trying to produce a compiled stylesheet. I run the command line
utility:

/usr/local/jre1.2.2/bin/java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -in in.xml
-xsl mydemo.xsl -lxcout my.compiled

And the following java error is spit out:
Error! org.apache.xalan.xpath.xml.StringToStringTable

Any idea on what I'm doing wrong?
