Apps Site upgrade and downloads available

Folks,

News on pre-release Apps for Phoenix............

I've uploaded jakarta-avalon-apps/ source and binaries to my site at
Apache http://cvs.apache.org/~hammant/apps/

Though the CVS versions use xdoclet to generate.xnfo etc, these
downloadables use a pre-generated zip of those and the manifests to save
bytes.

I have also updated the site for http://jakarta.apache.org/avalon/apps/
but am not sure if it completed properly. It certainly has not been
copied from CVS yet. The principle reason for my confusion is that the
process of committing the changes killed my yahoo account ("you are not
allowed to send mails in excess of 400K"). The account was disabled for
a while, but is OK now. My other problem is that my ADSL provider
disabled my account a week early. I was planning to upgrade to another
with a faster and cheaper connection. I can now expect two weeks of
'slow' time as I use v.90. Good old British Telecom and Homechoice
(not). The point is that I am not going to be so active in this
relatively disconnected time and I have had a least a day of missed
mail-list mail. If there are any I have missed that scream 'Paul' could
someone give me a heads-up.

Regards,

- Paul H

Hi Paul:

Don't worry!
Nothing new has happended - at least nothing that hasn't been discussed
before!
:-)

Cheers, Steve

Juozas,

:-) The correct list for this is avalon-apps.

You can launch tests against it from in ant. I think the target is
'testl1' followed by 'testl2'. Of course that is for my SQL replacement
called LXSQL. There are some tests for the SQL impl too (Gerhard did
the work on javacc parsing).

Ther where-clause matcher uses Javascript (I joke not). We wanted to
use BCEL but as you know I found it too hard ... my head kept rebooting
when looking at the BCEL examples .... ooops it is happening aagain...

  Phoenix BIOS .... 640K (tested)...
  256,222K extended memory (tested)...

I am not sure it must be on this list, but I want to know more.
I downloaded source code, I see it has good high lewel interfaces,
but it will be problems to implement backend for "Large" tables (Queryable).

Hmm, some problem then. Maybe the /entire/ commit was rejected when the
daemon tried to post a 400K chglog message. I'll check later today, as
I am off to meet new colleagues today :-)

Hi,

Fantastic work!

BT two files were updated on website but nothing else was (as you didn't
commit it to jakarta-avalon-site?)
